Energy from the sun in the UK is around 60% of that of the equator and you do not need direct sunlight for solar PV panels to work, they will still produce electricity on cloudy days. Solar systems can be installed successfully across the whole country and there are now many thousands of systems installed in all regions of the UK.
Solar photovoltaic panels are usually placed on the roof of your property and gather energy from the sun, which is used to generate electricity. Solar panels can be fitted on your roof, which is the most common and cost effective system. They can also be fitted in roof for an improved aesthetic appearance, the panels replace the tiles and are positioned at the same level. Alternatively, if these options are not suitable because you have a flat roof or your roof cannot accomodate solar panels, an A frame system can be used. These systems can be mounted on a flat roof or on the ground.
By installing a photovoltaic panel system at your property, you will save money by reducing the amount of electricity you buy and you will earn money from the electricity you generate and earn even more by selling any surplus electricity back to the National Grid.
The Feed-In Tariffs you can receive are guaranteed for 20 years which are index-linked (& tax free for domestic installations). Installing solar energy will protect you against the continuing price rises and it will cut your carbon footprint and contribute to the country's move to a low carbon economy.
Solar PV systems are a proven technology that is very low maintenance and there are long warranties on both the installation and the products to give you piece of mind.
For non-domestic installations, you can potentially receive capital allowance tax relief on your investment.
EMMA is an easy-to-install monitoring system which can show how much electricity your micro-generator is producing and how much electricity you are using. EMMA can identify any surplus energy being produced and it will then deposit the surplus energy and either store it as hot water or space heating or export it so that you can benefit from the Feed-In Tariffs. This results in further substantial savings on your energy bills, optimal income from the Feed-In Tariffs and an even smaller carbon footprint.
The Energy & Micro-generator Manager is able to help reduce overvoltage leading to reduced maintenance costs, reduce noise pollution and ultimately increase the output of your renewable energy system.
How does it work?
Eco Incentive will supply and fit an Immersun unit that will direct excess electricity not already being used in the home to your immersion heater to heat your hot water.
The good news is that it can be fitted to your existing immersion heater, so you don’t have to worry about extra hidden costs.
Your system will be generating electricity and heating your hot water at the same time
Feed-in Tariffs
By installing an Immersun unit you will not affect your FiT payments, it will only help towards increasing your annual savings and earnings as you continue to reduce your energy costs
Did you know…around 50% of the energy produced by your solar PV system may be superfluous to your immediate requirements and will be exported back to the grid with no benefit to you. This is because you are automatically paid a 50% export rate of 4.5p/kwh whether you export any electricity or not.
Product Features
This product comes as a quality all-metal wall mounted enclosure which is manufactured in the UK. Customers can benefit from a 3 year product warranty when purchasing the system.
By installing solar PV at your property you can generate a very high return on investment because you are applicable to receive the Feed-In Tariffs. For a typical 4kW solar PV system you can currently receive 16p/kWh for every unit of electricity you generate at your home and you will also receive 4.5p/kWh for every unit you generate but you export back to the National Grid. You will also be reducing your current electricity bills substantially, potentially saving you hundreds of pounds each year.
The income you receive from the Feed-In Tariffs is completely tax free and index-linked to the Retail Price Index) and guaranteed for 20 years.
All properties will be required to meet an Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) rating of D or above to qualify for the full 16p/kWh rate, if your property is unable to meet the required standards, you will only receive 7.1p/kWh.
There will be a reduction in tariffs over time in line with the uptake of the FIT scheme. There will be an average tariff reduction of around 3.5% every three months as of November 2012, this could potentially be higher if there is a rapid uptake of solar PV installations in the preceeding months.
If you install a commercial solar PV system up to 50kW capacity after August 1st 2012 and your property achieves the Energy Performace Certificate (EPC) rating of level D or above, you will be guaranteed 13.5p/kWh for 20 years and index-linked.
The tariffs for commercial Solar PV systems are; 10-50kW installations can receive 13.5p/kWh, 50-150kW systems can receive 11.5p/kWh and 150-250kW systems can receive 11p/kWh.
