Heat Pump

A heat pump is a device that harvests renewable heat energy from the sun which is stored in the ground or ambient air around your property.

Heat pumps are very efficient devices that typically convert 1kW of energy used to run the pump into 2-4kW of useable heat for your property all year round – something not possible with other heating methods. In contrast, conventional boilers convert 1kW of input energy into less than 1kW of output energy.

A heat pump uses a vapor compression cycle to enable low temperatures gathered from the ground or air surrounding your property and transfer them to a refrigerant.

The liquid refrigerant is then compressed causing it to change from a liquid to a gas which produces much higher temperatures. This high temperature gas is then passed through a heat exchanger that transfers the heat from the hot gas into the heating and hot water system for your property.

Even at very low temperatures, the vapor compression cycle can produce heat sufficient to provide your heating and hot water. Heat pumps are even capable of generating heat from outside temperatures as low as -20°c.

You can collect heat from the air, water, bedrock or the ground. Energy can be found all around your property and it is constantly replenished by the heat of the sun. We offer three different heat pump systems to capture that energy and heat your property. Our expertise will help you find the right one for you and your property.
